Fuck off
Football / Soccer / Calcio / Futebol / Fußball
Did not expect that
Fuck VAR
Absolutely braindead officiating. He steps over and the guy puts his foot there. No fucking footballing awareness.
nah that's a yellow imo, tried to shield the ball, no intention and unlucky af
But Romero can play basketball against us and it isn't hand ball, embarrassing.
Ouch
Not great for the confidence
2-0 up? "Time to take matters in our own hands fellas!" - Rashford
Yeah that’s a red, Rashford did not need to stretch out that far there
Idiots in this thread, never been to a game in their life claiming it’s not a red 😂😂
That's harsh. It's neither intentional nor reckless. Just seems like an unfortunate incident.
Zero intention in it. Shite
Don’t like that call
Unfortunate as he's shielding the ball and not really looking at where the player is, but probably a red by the laws of the game
Obviously not intentional but could have caused serious damage with that.
It was a worse tackle than a couple of the others that have been given in the PL this year - no idea why that one commentator is surprised about it? Why are they arguing about if it's vindictive or not - it's obviously dangerous and lazy, even if not vindictive?
When will people learn INTENT doesn’t matter anymore
VAR is a farce
SO FUCKING STUPID. Tried to make himself big, fuck off
The ref only saw videos in slow motion ffs. This happens 3 times a games almost
You have to be so shit at your job to make this call, the level of incompetence is unreal
it’s unlucky but has to be a red i think
They compared this guy with leao😭😭😭
Tried to protect the ball and completely missed. Horrible contact with his leg. Clear red
If Romero was a Red, this is a red.
Unintentional and unlucky, but the correct call.
This is just plain VAR re-refereeing.
Rather unlucky, but yeah that’s a red.
Well that's just unfortunate for both.
He’s not meant to do it but like they said it doesn’t really matter when his ankle could’ve snapped from that
Things were finally looking up for United and then he goes and does this...
Ten Hag must be fuming
Knew that scoring 2 goals had to have a downside
I honestly don’t agree with that, it’s nasty but there have to be some mitigations for the fact he’s coming from behind. There has to be some allowances for legitimate football actions that result in things like that.
If he was even close to looking at the leg he plants his foot on then yea red all day, but come on man he's on the spin and completely facing the other way
Red seems a bit harsh but at the same time also correct somehow? Idk
In no world is that a red to anyone who has actually kicked a ball before.
It's not intentional, but that was a rough looking stamp.
These refs should play a game of football for once. At least the people making the rules. If his happens every week nowadays without the opposing team even asking for the red card, maybe something is wrong with the rule.
He tries to make himself big and doesn't even see the foot when stamping on his ankle. Just idiotic stuff completely against the spirit of the game.
Wow we're not safe even in the UCL. That'll open the game up.
This is the worst call I’ve ever seen in my life
Seems very harsh IMO, obviously he’s going to be sent off though when the ref’s shown 18 replays in slow motion and a freeze frame
Never intentional, never a red
i understand and it did look painful, but damn it still feels harsh
No intent == No red card
Should be withdrawn after the game and an apology issued by UEFA and VAR. not even a joke at this point
Are some peoples bones made out of cardboard in this thread? Might sprain your ankle if you are unlucky but no one is breaking their shin or ankle from that.
This is one of those letter of the law pitfalls. Clearly not intentional but could be dangerous none the less. Sometime when two players are going for a ball one will be late and deliver an unintentional stamp.
Just when we're having a good game as well. Classic
