As if he was going to do it anyway. Surely people can see that he is a liar

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 9 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I think most of us figured he would just quietly drop the promise come election time, not come out loud and proud declaring that he lied about it while it's still hot in people's memories.

His claim is so dumb as well, so it 's Labor's fault for having a referendum that he won't do another one? If only someone had pointed that out before he made that promise

Yeah that is the funny (in a sad way) part to me. Probably a reflection of where Dutton's Coalition is heading that he doesn't even attempt to save face. They are focusing on energising their right wing base at the expense of everyone else, in true GOP fashion.

Imagine my shock that the person against it walks back a promise to do it again

It's still worth calling out and recording the lie :(

“Well Muslims are part of the voting base now, and China’s donating loads to us again, so the only poor schmucks to stick it to are the blackies.”

LNP strategy meeting.

Ex Qld copper who was so popular with his colleagues that they left cans of dog food on his desk lied about Aboriginal recognition referendum. Not just the last one, the one he promised next time.

He is so negative that he even opposes himself.

soft "no" voters, do you feel surprised by this? did his original promise sway you?

I voted yes. For me, No made more sense but the broader context convinced me to vote yes, despite my heart not being in it. For a while I was just going to be informal. I'm also a swinging Labor/Greens voter.

The potato can get fucked. Bent copper scum.
