Transcript:

I've been a loyal Trump supporter since 2016.

I lost a job, friendships, been smeared online, doxxed, and pressed charges on people who've stalked and harassed me for supporting him.

If Trump doesn't want my support, because I care about the Epstein Files, then I'm done.

Bye.

The fear of pedophiles is higher than this guys racism/queerphobia? A win i guess. I welcome every person that stops to support Trump because there are still many who do.

Like i really god damn hope that this of all things is what breaks his neck. If there is a god, hear our prayer 🙏🙏 (cause i am somewhat doubtful)

It's such a bizarre hill to die on. I only wish I could hinge my entire political life on the gossip around some random celebrity pimp's murder.

[–] TheFrirish@jlai.lu 13 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Obvious stupidity aside went to the "non-satirical" r/conservative and even there the temperature looks bad for Trump. I'm actually surprised that there is so much negativity against Trump there now the mods were not able to delete enough comments.

Turns out the possibility that the president is a child rapist is hard to look past.

[–] wrinkledoo@sh.itjust.works 4 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

They looked past that for the last 12 years.

No, I think the media machine is trying to phase trump out, by finally rubbing it in their stupid faces, like a dog's nose rubbed in shit.

[–] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 1 points 10 hours ago

I agree. It's also hard for them to claim fake news when it's from the horses mouth.

Trump has been riling up his fan base and conspiracy theorists since the election. Actually, he has been riling them up since the 2016 election by accusing the dems of all being pedophiles and saying he was going to lock them up. But in the 2024 election, he talked about Epstein specifically quite a few times and led his base to believe he would actually release the Epstein files. Unlike the economy, which you can use various metrics to claim it’s doing good or bad (stock market, grocery prices, etc.) Epstein is a pretty black and white case of “he’s literally a pedophile and was found guilty for doing lots of horrible things.” Everyone, conservatives and liberals, has spent many years rightly hating the guy, but also waiting for everyone he was involved with to also be punished. The maga base was dumb enough to believe that it was only dems and maybe a few unimportant republicans on the list, but they’re out for blood that Trump is refusing to give them, so they’re starting to actually turn on him, a little at least. Trump’s big mistake was thinking that he could use the Epstein files like he’s used everything else so far. In his mind, pedophilia is no different to Hillary’s emails: just a way to rile up his base and use their anger. He assumed that if he stopped talking about it then they would too. He’s so out of touch and evil that he didn’t realize that to the average, non-elite American pedophilia is unforgivable and it’s something conservatives will actually fight against (that’s why republicans accuse trans and gay people and basically anyone they don’t like of being a pedophile: it’s wildly effective)

The moment Trump openly starts killing brown people in his death camps they will all come running back.

"Forgive me, Daddy."

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 28 points 1 day ago (4 children)

I wonder how many of these people will put 2 and 2 together and question every other time Trump used the same blame the dems + shoot the messenger strategy.

It’s almost like he’s a corrupt piece of shit and this is literally his strategy for eve-ry-thing that makes him look bad.

[–] StarryPhoenix97@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Literally we pointed to his career in real-estate where he consistently ripped off contractors when he was running the first time and people said. "Yeah that's my guy. The one that weasels out of honest deals" that's not a business man. That's a crook.

[–] Azal@pawb.social 3 points 11 hours ago

They'll put 2 and 2 together and get whatever the GOP tells them. They don't think. They won't think. If Trump gets bad they'll dump him, but then go for the next one. I live in a red state where we voted in some worker rights, but people still had to vote for that R... and now that the workers rights are being taken away, the republicans are still mouthing the party line of "It's bad for business" even when they voted for it.

[–] floo@retrolemmy.com 3 points 13 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago)

Almost certain I won’t. These people don’t have a very high capacity for self-awareness or self reflection. If going back to question everything Trump said only to see that he was lying the entire time, these people would have to admit that they had been duped and were wrong this entire time.

There’s anything that I’ve come to know, it’s that these people can never ever admit that they were wrong.

No, they formed some other delusion around that in order to explain away their cognitive dissonance. Their entire world would collapse around them otherwise.

[–] jballs@sh.itjust.works 17 points 1 day ago* (last edited 10 hours ago) (1 children)

He's already back to tweeting shit about how Trump's bday letter to Epstein is fake. So they learned nothing.

[–] Zanathos@lemmy.world 3 points 11 hours ago

He realized he would lose revenue and recognition if he didn't swing back to Daddy. Morality is dead.

Thoughts and Prayers

Maybe.. just maybe people shouldn't worship politicians, or anyone rich/famous to begin with. But what do I know, I'm just a simple person who doesn't want to deport/imprison people for the color of their skin or take Medicaid and food away from the poor.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 69 points 1 day ago (6 children)

The part that chaps my ass about this is.... The damage is already done. Trump can not get voted in again. He's on his second term, of two max.

So all of this shit is too little too late. You fucked up. You fucked everything up. And now you realize the guy is a piece of shit because he won't release a list of rich people who are paedophiles and rapists? A list he's very likely to be on?

This is the line?

Holy shit. Of all the terrible stuff he said he would do, and all of the terrible stuff he actually has done..... And you fucks put him in the office again.

And this is the point where you finally stop supporting him?

[–] iridebikes@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The damage has been done, yes, but we can stop further damage. If MAGA finally turns on him for being a prolific pedo, we can roll the clock back on some of this stuff. I'm afraid they're going to have to catch him live with his dick in a minor for his base to believe it, though.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 1 points 4 hours ago

Can we though? We've never seen a sitting US president get thrown out of the job forcibly. Some were under investigation, or indicted, but stepped down voluntarily. The courts didn't kick them out of the job.

I do not believe, for a second, that Trump would ever be sensible enough to voluntarily step down. By the time they dragged him through the legal process of ending his term, his term would have ended anyways.

Even if we started today, the time that he would still be in office, actively harming America and Americans, would not change. We are unable to stop him because there's simply too much red tape involved; not that you could find someone to charge, and/or prosecute him.... Which is a whole other problem.

The damage is actively being done and getting worse. It will continue to get worse. And the only thing that could bring this insanity to a rapid conclusion is a radical and illegal act against the man himself. Honestly, I don't expect anyone to be able to "Luigi" Trump.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 13 hours ago

You can't roll back the loss of 100 years of progress. Especially in the sciences since we've already lost a lot of the people, can't roll back the loss of prestige, or the devaluation of the dollar, at least not easily.

[–] Hazzard@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 day ago (7 children)

Honestly, I'm a bit relieved at the current situation, because I wasn't nearly as certain he was done. With incidents like January 6th, all the claims of voter fraud, his clear abuse of systems like presidential pardons and executive orders, I really thought Trump had a genuine chance of overturning the 2-term limit and twisting the US into a bona fide dictatorship.

I'm relieved to see his astounding incompetence finally reaping results in his polling numbers again and again, because it's breaking the spell he seemed to have over half the country. Hell, it's even breaking the allure of fascism in the elections of other countries at this point. His gross incompetence during this presidency is single-handedly moving the whole world a little more to the left.

[–] MystikIncarnate@lemmy.ca 2 points 4 hours ago

I'd say this is silver lining on a very dark shitstorm cloud.

[–] Gaylactus@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

You overestimate his supporters long term memory. You're still only 6 months in, still 3.5 years left to go. Don't count your chickens before they hatch.

Baffling that THIS is their line.

[–] Banzai51@midwest.social 23 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Not that surprising. Republicans have been painting Democrats as Satanist baby killers for decades. Republicans have also been campaigning on the lie that the Epstein list is all Democrats, Woke Hollywood, and Silicon Valley Tech Bros. To the average brainwashed minion, there is zero reason to hide the client list. They want their righteous lynchings.

I googled this guy to see if this story was in any way significant, and his other posts are so Poe’s Law batshit that I have no idea which of them are serious and which aren’t.

Know when you get the joke a few minutes after everyone else laughed at it and it's pretty embarrassing?

Imagine being a decade behind the curve.

Too bad they didn't get it before November and locking us in for 4 years.

Anyways, I'm glad all those bad things happened to him.
