It wasn’t him! He was with me while he was knocking the tv over. So it couldn’t have been him. He’s innocent!

Scientists predict if humans disappear and cats remain, within 2 months all objects will be on the floor.

"It's better this way. Don't you think?"

"Whoever did this must be a genius"

Funny how with every case he solves, it’s the dog who did it

[–] blinfabian@feddit.nl 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

we keep getting new dogs because the last one broke the TV... why are dogs so agressive against TVs?

[–] sprite0@sh.itjust.works 36 points 1 week ago (1 children)

good boys know the tv is the main source of bourgeoisie propaganda

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

"break your chains comrades!"

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 1 week ago

Not this time. It was the gold fish in the pond

[–] MyNameIsRichard@lemmy.ml 18 points 1 week ago

Will it ever be solved?

[–] limelight79@lemmy.world 18 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Was the TV just resting on that ledge?

[–] cheese_greater@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

It Had a good long rest...

[–] Zwiebel@feddit.org 8 points 1 week ago (2 children)

That ledge is made for tvs to rest on

I'm hindsight, it would have been a good idea to secure it against the wall. A few command hooks and some cord would have helped.

Made for it in what way? I'm not seeing a slot for it to sit in or anything to hold it in place. Regardless of whether it's the intended place or not, a flat panel TV just resting on its edge with nothing holding it in place is asking for trouble.

[–] Zwiebel@feddit.org 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Oh you missed the feet mounted to the tv

[–] AFKBRBChocolate@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

Oh, that's a little better. I live in California, where small earthquakes aren't uncommon, so not something that looks okay to me, but better than just propped up on the edge.

You don’t need to use the vesa mounts. But you can put in a few screws into the wall and “anchor” your standalone tv with some wire, to prevent exactly this kind of thing.

[–] kieron115@startrek.website 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

For real. My TV and my tower speakers both come with these sharktooth lookin picture hanger things on the back for exactly that purpose.

[–] BeMoreCareful@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Does that squish the back of the speakers up against the wall?

[–] kieron115@startrek.website 2 points 6 days ago

Well mine were already wall mounted lol but you can just do like jaybone said and use wire to make it as far from the wall as you want. I just used some leftover speaker wire and some eyelets, but you can buy purpose made "picture hanging wire" that is good for 20-30 pounds or so if you want to be extra sure.

His face says: "I thought you had secured it properly this time"

[–] jaybone@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 week ago

Why doesn’t he investigate what’s going on with that sliding glass door closet behind him?
