No thanks, Nazi.

Wonder how many losers who didn't vote or voted 3rd party will split the vote for Elon, ensuring continued Republican destruction.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

Nobody: ...

Elon: this shit for some reason

[–] pawnfuture@lemmy.world 9 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

Musk caused a lot of problems mainly while he was being self serving. He fired a lot of FAA leadership and mass laid off air traffic controllers. He wanted to steal a contract from Verizon for SpaceX. Aircraft incidents increased almost immediately. DOGE also led cuts at NOAA which NWS relies on. There was a surprise tornado in the midwest a couple of months ago and flash flood in Texas. These events claimed lives. I blame Musk. Musk is at least partially responsible for Trump gaining power whether he hacked vote tabulations or not.

There could not be a worse bad actor to be involved in our politics. I like the idea of a centrist party but want Musk to not be involved at all.

[–] brendansimms@lemmy.world 6 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Musk and Centrist Party cannot be used in the same sentence. Dude is a nazi.

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Well when the Republicans are far-right and the Democrats are right, a centrist party would be halfway in between them, so it does seem to be accurate.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

Nah, he's just as far-right as the rest of the Nazis. He just disagrees on some points.

[–] CmdrShepard49@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 hour ago

I don't disagree with that at all

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 1 points 8 hours ago

How do you sing up?

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 4 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

If this works, it's game over for the Republican Party.

[–] samus12345@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 hours ago

It's Musk, of course it won't work. But he might be able to grift money from it.

[–] Xande@discuss.tchncs.de 7 points 22 hours ago

When did they forget he is an immigrant too?

Oh, wait... he's an insanely rich white immigrant... nevermind.

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 11 points 1 day ago

Divide the Trump base! Yes!

[–] Catma@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He is 100% not going to do anything. Oh he may say he will but they will never field a single candidate and support Republicans to the hilt. This is at best a way for him to grift

[–] brendansimms@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago

the tesla revenue stream is drying up - gotta find a new source

If it puts the hyper racist conservatives against the conservatives who tolerate the hyper racist conservatives I'm all for it.

[–] dan1101@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago

I just want to see him actually keep his word and keep Republicans who voted for the big bill from getting reelected.

[–] leadore@lemmy.world 58 points 1 day ago (1 children)

“Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” he said.

Yes, because Musk is the first person that comes to mind whenever "actually cares about the people" is mentioned. 🤮

[–] bcgm3@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

On the other hand, there's a certain authenticity that comes from knowing he came up with the slogan himself (because there's no way that any AI -- even grok -- would generate something so tepid and transparent).

America party

with this kind of creativity is anyone surprised that the cybertruck was so successful and universally loved? true genius savant

[–] IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago (1 children)

named after the US Nazi party.

"America first party"

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

America first has long been the GOP's motto anyway. you don't need separate parties; they're all the same.

[–] floo@retrolemmy.com 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

At least he didn’t call the X party

American Nazi Party. Now that somehow brings up a New Order to the political game, doesn't it?

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 71 points 1 day ago

I did Nazi that coming.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 26 points 1 day ago (4 children)

“It is obvious with the insane spending of this bill, which increases the debt ceiling by a record FIVE TRILLION DOLLARS that we live in a one-party country – the PORKY PIG PARTY!!” Musk said Monday.

“Time for a new political party that actually cares about the people,” he said.

This shit is hilarious. So he didn’t like the bill because it didn’t make enough cuts? Or is it that it provided too much money for ICE? Either way, he will have plenty of new party members. Stupid people eat this shit up.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 16 hours ago

he wasnt getting anymore gov't subsidies, probably.

[–] DetectiveNo64@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I think it's because it ended EV rebates or something? I try not to follow too closely.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 day ago

Oh shit, I forgot about that part. I think you’re right.

[–] HurlingDurling@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (4 children)

He's just trying to apease the frustrated to get a voter base... But the real plan here is to dilute the democratic voter base even further cementing the republicants to stay in power.

If those party comes in 2nd, he'll just conceed and give his votes to the Republican candidate.

If they win, then hell just cozy up to Republicans anyway.

Remember RFK Jr when he ran as independent.

This is THE PLAN

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

i dont think hes drawing any dem supporters, rfk jr AND jill russian stein mostly drew republican voters, or people that "are undecided" i was following rfk jrs voter campaigns and he mostly got the people that usually dont vote, or the undecided and some republicans.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 1 day ago

Damn, I had not considered that. I should have known that this was yet another ploy to keep fascism in power. I mean, after the Nazi salute, I should have kept that in mind when examining why he does what he does.

I wonder what his party's stance is on taxing the rich.

[–] Dyskolos@lemmy.zip 5 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

If he'd be smart, he'd do a hiiiigh tax on every rich person. Up to a fortune of, let's say, his fortune. Would be hard to not vote for him then 😁

[–] ABetterTomorrow@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 day ago (1 children)

And there it is, the name/term “American” is forever negative.

[–] vga@sopuli.xyz 1 points 16 hours ago

South American?

[–] Nay@feddit.nl 19 points 1 day ago (18 children)

Hopefully this will be like a first up tech startup where they are super successful for a while, then someone else comes along and does it better.

[–] KoboldCoterie@pawb.social 42 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Hopefully it'll act as a spoiler against the republican candidate, opening the door for a progressive party to also form without causing a far-right candidate to get elected.

I'm hoping we get ranked choice voting more widespread because of it.
