“Outsider”??? Word choice is so important, and an “outsider” often has negative connotations. Outsiders are other, not like us, different, strange.

Point being: when are we going to start holding these “traditional media” outlets accountable for going out of their way to mischaracterize anyone slightly left of alt-right?

I’m sorry, but that word choice is intentional to cast Mamdani in a negative light. I’m just so tired and done with this bullshit. Fuck you, BBC. You’re an embarrassment to journalism.

He's also signed paperwork to run as an independent in the general election in case he lost the primary.

"I said he won the primary election," Cuomo told the outlet. "I said I wanted to look at the numbers and the ranked-choice voting to decide about what to do in the future, because I'm also on an independent line."

Though he probably expected it to be far closer than this. Zohran massively outperformed polls. No polls had him winning the first round let alone by this much (even the few polls that had Zohran winning)

He's hinted at a third party run in the general. I dunno, maybe he thinks denying reality and holding on the whole way to an inevitable loss would make him look weak for that.

He's probably looking to his rich donors to see if they are going to pressure Eric Adams to drop out of running as an independent as well.

If they are both running as independent then the low information voters will split their votes which will help Mamdani win.

The have to do some research to see how they can ratfuck the mayoral election now that the primary is done.

I thought mayor was a partisan position in every US city. If fact, in the US every elected position is effectively a partisan position, even the rare ones that officially aren't.
