Genuine question: wayland gives you headaches? On x11 my app windows move like my screen is at 30hz even when it is as 120hz, which i find a bit unpleasant. A colleague using the same laptop model (running arch, he wants you to know) with gnome and wayland has buttery smooth window movement and I am jealous.

It gives me headaches because X applications I need don't work and there are no good Wayland alternatives, is what I meant.

Isn't that what Xwayland was created for? What sort of applications are these?

There are things that fundamentally don't work in Wayland by design. One of them is injecting synthetic events into other applications, and at least 2 of the applications I use all the time need it (password manager-like apps that "type" secure codes into arbitrary text fields).

My biggest issue is that I love gnome-pie, and it doesn't really work right on wayland

How about you join the effort and help in development, instead of putting pressure on people that do this for free, raking time away from their families and sleep?

My bad, I must have been a bit cranky when I first read your post this morning. Anyways, there is experimental support, my dm proposes an experimental cinnamon wayland session and usually that means that the devs are seeking feedback. If the places with discussions on the topic seem to be quiet, it means that not enough people do test it and give feedback. Doing your part can indeed accellerate the process.
