For about a month every day, he drank 500grams of protein powder, mixed with meth and cocaine - power lifted every day .... literally saw the face of God for a moment and could understand space and time ... then suffered a massive heart attack and died.

So I'm not a data scientist but doesn't this basically say that your testosterone and IQ are pretty independent of each other?

[–] TonyTonyChopper@mander.xyz 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I am a scientist and it pisses me off that the independent variable is on the y axis

The depiction does not tell you anything since you cannot see structure in the black blob. It shows that outliers do exist which is expected since biology is messy.

There is the slightest anti correlation for measured testosterone levels and IQ, but on the individual level this is meaningless. There are people with testosterone resistance to various levels which would require diligent treatment to destill a more useful graph, but that's infeasible.

Man i hate confirming these kinds of biases. I wish this plot werent true, but it makes so much sense.

[–] MBM@lemmings.world 4 points 1 week ago

I wish this plot werent true

That's an easy wish! Last time I saw this plot people were saying that this kind of data doesn't even exist in the mentioned source (that and IQ is kind of bogus, but y'know)

Jack Reacher, the vanilla gorilla.

Btw is this real? I thought there was no conclusive data on testosterone and inteligence being related. Most sources say that its the change which matters(meaning that if you start taking it) and not the baseline except in the extremes.
