In a strongly worded statement, the company criticised a televised event involving U.S. President Donald Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance, referring to it as the “biggest shitshow ever presented live on TV.” Haltbakk Bunkers praised Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky for his restraint, accusing the U.S. of “putting on a backstabbing TV show” and declaring that the spectacle “made us sick.”

American warship! Go fuck yourself!

[–] jagged_circle@feddit.nl 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

There's over 50 other countries in America that dont need to fuck themselves

I think you meant "US Warships"

I think they call it soft power, where people just go along with you by default...

What Trump did to Zelensky and things he said about Ukraine on top harassing our other allies, thats called big dick daddy power, and it makes your friends wonder that you will do this to them. Most of this will go un noticed, small thing here and there. But US will pay the price and we don't have the resource to maintain a military to control what we have now at gun point, Russia style. This is delusional and undermines the foundation of our hegemony.

I am not a US imperialist but like this shit is bad all around even if you don't like the Empire. It is there... why would we start ceding it to Russia or China JFC

Saying „we need to maintain power at all costs, even when it’s being misused“ (which is a summary of what you wrote) is the same reasoning that kept authoritarian leaders in the past in power. Are you sure that’s the road you want to defend?

Yes that's called geo politics dear...

Why would we accept some foreign autocracy getting a upper hand over our regime?

Because you're trying to start a world war but you're vastly overestimating your own power.

They are heavily banking on Germany remaining loyal to the US. Which is not a bad bet given Germanys hatred of Muslims and blind loyalty towards Israel. They will condemn some US actions but their capitalist interests are completely aligned.

Turkeys Leadership (not it's people) are very loyal to the US and short of a coup that will not change.

Those are the ~~two~~ (see edit) largest military powers in NATO (excluding the US). They are banking on Europe following Germany and Turkeys alignments. They do not give a shit about anyone else, and honestly, they don't really have to if Russia aligned with the US.

The play with Russia is to attempt to distance them from China but I do not think Putin is as dumb as Trump. I think Putin is playing Trump pretty well (well from Russias point of view obviously).

But I think they vastly underestimate how important soft power is and how much of the global south matters in a world war 3 in comparison to WW2. China absolutely looks better to all of the global South countries.

If I had to guess. We'll see uprisings against US military bases throughout the global south moving forward. Supported by Russia with arms. I think China will remain out of it as long as they can. Supporting only east Asian countries to solidify alignments near their territories.

Edit: Germany is the 5th largest military actually but their economic influence over the EU makes them extremely important. Also, Poland (3rd largest) is another similar ally of the US with a lot of right wing reactionary movements happening similar to Germany. You can basically assume both will align with the US.

Those are the two largest military powers in NATO (excluding the US) (and it's not even close).

You had me up this me man... Buy Germany doesn't have a proper force. France and UK and Italy and like Spain and Poland have better deck out force and strong operation capability. Germany abdicated its defense obligations and recovery has been spotty at best due to heavy corruption in procurement process... I think they call this the "German buerocracy" as a cope

Bottom line Germany is not a military power but it could like the do the thing everyone expects to but as you call with remainder of the comment. It do seem like German oligarchy ain't rushing to tech up the military... Maybe they know something we don't. That would explain all this idiotic shit we see

[–] LeninOnAPrayer@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

You're right. I'm a little drunk and misremembered. Germany is not the 3rd largest military. What I was misremembering is their power and control over the EU. Essentially the EU is entirely centered around Germany. So that with their military power makes them the most important nation in Europe in terms of economy and military influence.

I guess my point still stands. Germany is absolutely important enough to both NATO and the EU that them following the US is very influential.

To your last point I'm not so sure Germany feels it is directly at threat given it's geographic position. They are one of the few Western nations that is very industry capable of ramping up production far long before they need to. So I wouldn't say they "know something we don't" (maybe) but more so they do not feel they need to yet. And their focusing on economic control.

I wish they would also cite climate change.
