For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.

No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.

Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.

Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.

Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.

"Set" to flee.

The best time to leave X for being a Nazi bar was at least a year ago.

The second best time to leave X for being a Nazi bar is right now.

And they're "set". Implying future.

Thing is people leave and spend a day or two on alternatives, don't see the traction they got on Twitter and then return.

Bluesky is starting to get there but you have to have some patience and stick to the decision to leave.

Thing is, people leave and decide after a day or two they're comfortable hanging out with Nazis, so they go back to the Nazi bar.

I genuinely think worse—far worse—of anybody with a Xhitter account, to the point of presuming that they can't be trusted with anybody non-male and non-white. There are consequences, in the end, to supporting fascism, no matter what excuses people contrive.

I've seen that. Although people seem to be sticking around this time.

Yea.. It's also talks about starting to cross post to alternative platforms, in addition to Twitter :/

Each time we post on Twitter/X, without also posting it on another platform such as Bluesky, we help maintain Elon Musk's power and wealth, which he uses to amplify voices of hate and misinformation. It's time to stop being complicit.

A lot of people believe institutions wouldn't betray them, wouldn't fall, wouldn't fail, be that corporate or state. People are starting to awake to the fact that Twitter was bought by a technofascist to undermine democracy all across the globe. The sooner people are realizing it, the better.

If any of you still have Twitter accounts, lock them! Get a Mastodon account if you don't have one yet, you might need one if the censorship storms of Project 2025 will be striking. Get one on BlueSky, just be skeptical that it's still a corporation, and things can go south there too, especially if US based one and will be expected loyalty from Trump.

If you go the Bluesky route you can also easily cross post to mastodon via

I came here to post the exact same sentiment, but you beat me to it.

If they have to talk about leaving before they leave, then they're not actually going to leave. Doers do.

[–] Cort@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I mean, you'd probably at least advertise where you're going to move, before you leave the platform

Even if they do, it's still a win for Musk. He got what he wanted out of the deal. He got the ability to rewrite the feed algorithms as he saw fit, and steer a large portion of online public discourse towards getting Trump re-elected. Tough to say how much of a factor this was, but it definitely contributed. The money he lost on Twitter, he'll make back.

We all laughed at him for setting the platform on a course of destruction, and that may yet still happen, but he got the last laugh out of it. Props to him, I guess.
