Dammit, I think I might've gotten what Bacon has. Headachey, throat sore, feel weak and tired. Must be the change in weather? Time to chug more water and make sure I've got plenty to eat...

Has anyone got any dog sitter/boarding kennel recommendations or horror stories they wanna share?

I wanna go with my partner to their home country for a max of 2 weeks next early year, but we have a dog and no friends/family who would be able to take him or stay at our house with him.

I'm hesitant because he's a tiny bit screwed up due to a couple occasions where off-leash dogs attacked him, but sometimes he's really good with other dogs - it just depends. He absolutely loves people though.... Unfortunately I'll probably end up just not going for the trip but we'll see

I used Aussie Housesitters once and it worked out really well. Our dog at the time was elderly and a bit arthritic and wouldn’t have coped well in a kennel, was better for him to have the comfort of his own home. Look for sitters with good reviews, and you can ask a potential house sitter for a video call before hand to see if you click. I think if I was to do again I’d offer the house sitter a payment or go through a paid service, because I was so grateful that our dog was well looked after.

There's also apps like Pawshake that could be worth checking out.

Day awf so gonna get a bit more of the watering system done.

This thing will hopefully save a shitload of time.

But doing the mafs, 1 hr of run time will deplete the 8000l of water tank by 15% each go which means it has to go on town water which is a bit disappoint.

But also in doing the mafs, if it fails it's just mind boggling how much water there is at full tilt.

does it *need *to run for an hour? how many drippers, what capacity? What's your rain sensor situation? I've run on half that capacity with less loss.

It'll be 250m-ish of dripper 0.3 spacing 2L emitters 600 kPa at mains. No rain sensor. 3 zones so swimming in pressure but my concern is pumps running dry on the tanks.

edit: I should add the concept of this is life support and it's probably not going to be a complete solution. It's the p's place, big garden, they're not interested in new and fangdangled so I'm winging this a bit (for better or worse).

As the owner of a 750l water tank, that sounds like a lot of water.
