Exactly. If you’re getting a straight answer from a Republican politician, you can damn near guarantee there’s a “former” in their title.
Obviously false claims that can lead to deaths made by popular, famous or political people should be punishable by jail time.
Fuck DeSantis, of course, but he isn't the only one. Too many people out there that happily do whatever, even if it kills babies, as long as it gets them votes.
We should start holding people accountable for their actions. If a large group of people like you to you and you say some stupid shit that gets them killed, you SHOULD be on the hook for that.

I’m not one to believe a bunch of tinfoil hat conspiracies, but I absolutely believe in the theory that Musk and Spez are being paid by dark/right-wing big money to run Xwitter and Reddit into the ground. Both platforms had large amounts of liberal free speech, but many left after Musk’s purchase and Spez’s shenanigans. I do believe that it’s a clandestine effort to reduce the public speech of Democrats and left-leaning individuals off of two of the largest platforms. Both are hemorrhaging cash, but, if they’re being paid more under the table, it would make perfect sense.
Okay, but what’s a conspiracy theory? Is the bush administration making up WMDs one still? Thinking Brett kavanaugh is probably a rapist? Thinking OJ did it?
Also, how strongly do you believe it and how does it affect your actions. I believe that the military could conclusively prove that the UFO stuff is terrestrial in origin but don't because it would expose national secrets either in military technology development or intelligence gathering abilities (it's experimental aircraft but might not all be ours). I recognize that I don't have good evidence for that belief and that it's a conspiracy theory and I'm not out here trying to hack government servers or attacking politicians it prove it.
It's a better theory than literal aliens. No species smart enough for interstellar travel would be dumb enough to go near a planet controlled by angry apes with nukes.
Yeah, I’m sure I believe in things that are technically conspiracy theories, such as that even BPA-free plastic is unsafe for food, but research on it is being stifled.
Do I avoid plastic? Not really, I’m lazy. Do I talk about it to people? Nope. Do I casually believe that corporate institutions are speeding my death through greed? Yes, but zero other effects on my life… that I can tell at least. I guess my family could be planning an intervention about how I need to come out of the fog.

Attempt is a wiggle word that doesn’t 100% differ from the official position. Believing OJ almost certainly killed his wife and Kavanaugh almost certainly raped his classmate are both opinions counter to the official government position, which, in OJ’s case, has been actively affirmed by governmental institutions. You didn’t say what that study defines as a conspiracy theory, but the above sounds reasonable to me as a definition.

You missed the point. OJ killing someone was a solo act, not a conspiracy. Kavanaugh acted alone, also not a conspiracy. Instead, deniers of both have created some wild theories that shadowy figures coordinated planting evidence for ulterior motives, that is a conspiracy theory. Whether you believe OJ did or didn’t do it is not a conspiracy either way.

I said below that I’m pretty sure that research on the harmfulness of plastics in food is being repressed (really just unfunded, but that’s effectively the same in the current research environment). That seems like it would probably fit your definition, but at least to me, it feels like a very different thing from thinking the moon landing was a hoax.
Because OJ, got a not guilty verdict and many believe he really did kill Nicole and her lover.. that's the conspiracy.. on both sides... the guily or not guilty belief.. we will never know for sure what actually happened there..
Kavanhuah raping someone, I can't prove it but he is spinless conservative Christians with power unchecked and I would bet the claims are very true... until there is a trial with evidence that proves it, it remains a conspiracy. 😔

The conspiracy is if you believe is if they really did or did not do it... not if they what they did, was a solo act.

It always has to be MULTIPLE people. A single person cannot, by definition, do a conspiracy. OJ Simpson acting alone cannot be engaged in a conspiracy. Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulting his classmate makes him a criminal but the act is still not a conspiracy. (If you believe the Jews or the CIA made him do it or framed him for their goals, then that would be a conspiracy theory). How many comments do we need to go back and forth to explain basic English definitions?

The reason why the far-right hates vaccines is, that it gets rid of "nature's eugenics program". They want the people that are most affected by the virus (people with immune problems) to die from it, because that will surely make all of us look like people from Nazi propaganda. They might not directly say it, bit if you're clever, you can get it out from them.
I don't think they are that sophisticated in their thinking.
They are scared and ignorant. Fear is a big factor in right wing thinking. Conservative means fear of change. Ignorance means they don't understand the world around them. A simple explanation of vaccines don't work means you don't have to understand anything. In fact you feel smart because you know something the smart people don't. For once you have the knowledge. This correlates with the far rights action against education and schools. Education was a humiliation for them and they want vengeance.
