ITHome has picked up on interesting retail activity in China, where AMD Radeon RX 6650 XT graphics cards are deeply discounted. This seems to correspond to a possible discontinuation of Team Red's Navi 23 XT GPU—a Board Channel source stated: "AMD factory has stopped production of a certain GPU. At the present time, shipments from all AIB brands have stopped with inventory being cleared. AMD has stopped production for the Radeon RX 6650 XT, and nearly all brands will have their inventory cleared by the end of September."

How does this matter and why should anybody care given the price to performance of the 7600?

Well the 7600 generally performs only a bit better (game dependent), but price/performance wise the 6650/6600 are much better deals in the 200-300$ price range -- at least while they're still around.

Why this matters is it's probably the start of the inevitable retiring the Navi 2X cards, so anyone interested in upgrading should still jump on the discounted 6k cards.

The 7600 is already around $250 to replace 6650.

still worse price/perofrmance, but again the bigger point isn't about this specific card. it's for those people on the fence of possibly diving into the 6k line.
