Poll: What should the Stay at Home parent's job include for chores?
I'll start. It seems like this is fairly common now but in our house it's supposed to be anything that gets dirtied or happens during the stay at home parent's routine, it's theirs to do along with more time extended chores like the lawn, snow removal, etc. Once the working parent returns, it supposed to become equal chores.
I generally find that the stay at home person tends to stop thinking of their job as a job at some point though. Things start to slack so working parents end up just coming home to doing half the stuff that should've been done during the day then being straight up child caretaker since kids want their attention for the rest of the night.
I have at least three buddies that all had the same issues so stay at home all end up having to get jobs to keep them sane or feeling like the work they put in was equal despite daycare basically making the extra income moot.
This just a western thing or what?
You just described my household situation to a T. ๐
