Nobody is defending any of these rebel groups, but they are making a point that certain systems of oppression have a tendency to produce them.

Yeah, no, I can literally find examples of people on here defending the Houthis very easily. If you want to dispute that, I can find you plenty of examples.

This meme is specifically calling out people who use the existence of militant rebel groups as a justification of violent suppression (in this case, suppression that is currently amounting to genocide).

By trying to play atrocity equivalence games? "Yeah, I know we persecute LGBT folk, but you bombed a refugee camp, which is worse :)"

By trying to play atrocity equivalence games?

lmao, idk if you got the reference but in this episode, Dwight is trying to distract from the fact that he shot a gun in the office by accusing people acting against him of extortion. The joke is that he is making the false equivalence to deflect blame, when his action is very clearly worse.

It kind of ruins it if I have to explain it but here we are i guess.

Man, there are easier ways to oppose the bombing of refugee camps than by saying "But murdering LGBT folk isn't as bad", which is the position you put in as your contribution to the meme format.

Oh, I agree, your meme about the houthis just reminded me of this episode where dwight is trying deflect blame for shooting a gun by complaining about his coworkers extorting him in response.

Honestly wouldn't have thought about it if you hadn't made that meme in the first place

My meme... pointing out that the Houthis are actually really shitty... is what made you make a meme saying that persecuting LGBT folks isn't that bad.

I don't pretend to know what lead you to make that meme, but i just assumed it was a reaction to a positive mention of the houthis' activity in the red sea being a response to israel's continued war crimes

apologies if I misread that
