Love it, I'd have loved to have seen Hasan Minhaj get the job but the correspondents have been killing it since Trevor took his leave. Even the new ones are great
Minhaj sort of screwed himself on that one.
Looking more and more like that was a hit job after seeing his response.
Out of the loop on this. Why didn't they stick with Minhaj?

Hasan explains it well, as usual. Thanks for the link!
Yknow, I actually read the article when it came out. And then I moved on. I thought the article itself didn’t really change my opinion of him. Like…fact check the wire for talking about growing up black and poor in Baltimore. tHoSE tHiNGs NeVeR HaPpENeD! Shut the fuck up. The fact that he’s telling a story to make a point…what is the harm in that? That he’s…doing the right thing the wrong way? And it’s not even the wrong way! It’s a storyteller’s way of showing the truth. I don’t go to a comedy show and believe everything I hear. But the point is what matters. It’s almost literally a rule in comedy. Don’t tell the truth no matter what. Tell the story no matter what. Unless you’re hurting anyone—and he absolutely wasn’t. The opposite. He’s shining a light on problems—BUT NOT TELLING THE TRUTH! He is telling the truth. Every single storyteller has to augment their story to make it flow. They decide to shift points around to make the story flow or to create an arc. SO FUCKIN WHAT.
But I had never watched his explanation. I appreciate you posting it. Made me take the time to actually watch it. I’m glad I did. Because before I just thought, “meh, that’s not really a big deal.” But now I think, “wow. Fuck that reporter.”
