I'll admit I'm surprised. I really thought hard evidence of him being a pedo could come out and there'd suddenly be a wave of explanations justifying why fucking kids isn't so bad. The backlash starting without the evidence coming out yet gives me a tiny sliver of hope.

There are lots of people who truly, legitimately, believe that they need to protect kids from sex. They mistakenly believe that includes pressing gay people, banning books on sexuality or teaching about sex at school. They think acknowledging the existence of gay and Trans people is a threat to those children. So they vote for abhorrent policies.

But for all they get wrong, they're consistently about protecting children from "sex predators", and that child rapists are the worst of the worst.

This one might stick.

Lol, no. They just use it as an excuse to hate. If it was really about protecting kids, we wouldn't have child poverty.

We wouldn't have kids in foster care for years.

We wouldn't have people voting for trump in the first place.

I don't doubt that they believe they are helping kids, but it's still brainwashed sheep following cult behaviour.

But, let's welcome them to reality.
