Study from World Travel & Tourism Council looked at the economic impact of tourism in 184 countries

Donald Trump’s policies risks alienating millions of international travelers and could cost the U.S. economy billions of dollars due to a sharp drop in tourism, a damning report says.

Amid the president’s immigration crackdown, travel bans and sweeping global tariffs, the U.S. is expected to be the only one out of 184 countries to see foreign visitor spending fall in 2025, according to the World Travel and Tourism Council.

The study suggests that the U.S. economy is on track to lose $12.5 billion in international spending this year alone – but the actual shortfall might be much greater.

This is not enough. Why are Canadians still visiting the US?!

This CBC article states:

Global Affairs Canada said it's aware of roughly 55 Canadians in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody, though it said that the numbers can fluctuate.

Fifty five kidnapped Canadians. There's no travel warning on the government's site, and people are still crossing the border. Are they not paying attention? The Canadian government sure isn't helping get the word out.

The excuse I’ve heard is “well, it’s fine to visit blue states”. Most of the people I know (rightly) won’t visit the US anymore but that’s what I’ve heard from people who would
