Ive seen silk filament do this when purged. The pet outer layer formed a sack and the pla inside expanded it. That being said it does look like 3mm filament from the spool.

same, i've had silk pla puff up like a friggin cheeto. thought there was something wrong with it, but it all printed just fine.
