I'm not defending this type of behavior but come on, why the fuck can't they just go through the post, this is just asking for people to fuck with it.
Because voting should have no restrictions attached to it. In other words, if you cannot afford a stamp it would restrict you. This is the basis for the voter ID laws that get struck down.
I would move these boxes to a populated place, like a firehouse. (Most definitely not a police station, lol)

It does. And that's how mail-in ballots generally work. The drop boxes are to...reduce the strain on the postal service? Idk.
It does. You don't have to buy a stamp to mail your ballot in.
So I'm going to say the great American adage: "it depends on the state." So there isn't really any type of standardization. States are actually in charge of how your vote is counted....so if a state decided to do away with counting actual votes and having a group of sycophants cast federal ballots to thier Orange Liege, they actually can...and there has been disturbing reports that this can/will take place.
I'm out of the norm since I'm overseas & received my ballot via email and faxed it (via email) back (all tracked and recorded).
