Why are there a bunch of non-board games in the board game list?

Because the Tabletop games category on Kickstarter includes anything remotely related to board games and sometimes things slip through my filters.

Why is this future award winning board game and literal saviour of humanity missing from your list?

Sometimes my filters get a bit overzealous and discard actually valid projects. If you feel something is missing for this reason, leave a comment and I'll add it (maybe).

Has anyone ever shopped at the online store Gate Play? I have never heard of them.

I saw an out of print expansion being sold below MSRP and wanted to see if anyone knew if the site was a scam. I am going to pay by credit card and read the terms of service, but don't want to have to bother with charge backs if I am not their first victim.

I've played 4 of the 12 games so far and I've been having a blast. I'm excited to play the next session, which is something I could never really say about ticket to ride.

We've been playing with 3 players and each session probably takes around 30 minutes. After each game, however, new stuff is introduced and sometimes it takes a bit to unpack and learn everything. The new stuff has been really easy to introduce and adds depth to the game. Most importantly, it adds fun.

Just played a good game of Roll for the Galaxy. Usually we end up finishing the game because someone gets 12 developments/worlds, but this time we shifted to producing and shipping. It came down to who got to ship first in the last time (wife had a lower faction number, so she got it). Result was tied on VP. 😀

Returning to the hobby after 4 years (lemmy.world)

My son came into my life 4 years ago, and my daughter arrived 2 years after that. It’s been wonderful having them in my life, and I’m really happy!

But I left some things aside when they arrived, they take your life by storm and it’s difficult to focus on the things you used to do before them. One of these things is board games.

I used to play with friends like once a month, and built my collection around that group. Some games were meant to be played with my wife, and occasionally with her friends too.

Now I want to start playing again, and I’m thinking of two paths that may not be exclusive.

Play with friends really late at night when my kids finally get a full night of uninterrupted sleep (not yet)
Play with my kids. Haba games are well received here (my first orchid was a success), and these holidays we’re stacking up with like 4 more games (I really hope they like them).

So yeah, this is not much of a question but just wanted to share that I still like this hobby after 4 years, and hope to keep sharing it with friends and family 🙂

I used to love playing Pandemic, but now that we actually lived through one, none of my friends want to play it anymore, myself included. I'm really looking forward to Daybreak to hopefully reattain the vibes of the original while still being fresh.

I spend some time to make a custom insert for Terraforming Mars, I just dislike all those tiny baggies! Everything fits neatly into the box and I just love the boxes for the Gold, Silver and Copper resources. Its so satisfying to align them all inside :D. I also enjoy that the cards are at an angle, makes shuffling unnecessary because you can just pick a card at random. Really happy how these came out.
