I just finished act 1 and was wondering what the community thinks of it. I thought it was good, but a step down from season 1.

The animation is as gorgeous as ever, maybe even better than season 1. The writing and pacing was kind of messy, though. The music was just overzealous too. They have a random music video with cheesy lyrics in each episode now. Just ruined the mood for me a couple of times.

I'm still looking forward to the rest of the season, I hope they can wrap it up without feeling too rushed.

'Moana 2' is eyeing the biggest holiday debut ever with a projected $125 million-$135 million opening over the five-day Thanksgiving corridor.

The feature piece, which goes into the finances of Riot Games, has revealed the company spent approximately $250 million to produce and promote Arcane’s two seasons which totaled 18 episodes.

That works out to a cost of around $13.9 million per episode – the highest amount of money ever spent on an animated series on streaming or linear TV.

The trade says the reason was that the “profligate spending and unrealized ambitions are a reflection of the company’s inexperience navigating the intricacies of entertainment production.”

In total the first season cost over $80 million to produce and $60 million to promote. The second season came in around $100 million and entered production without scripts for every episode, causing major delays.

The show I want to know is a animated cartoon with a cell shaded style. If I recall correctly, it was 2D animated using computer drawing (similar to the store of something like Infinity Train)

I think I found the clip from a Lemmy post several months back. The scene has been stuck in my head for a while. I described the scene to my friend and they were really intrigued. I would like to find the show, so I can show them the scene properly.

If I had to guess, I would say the show is something from cartoon Network, or possibly a pilot episode.

In the scene, a girl is walking through a dense forest of grey cylinders. They bend in multiple directions and divide or end randomly. If I recall correctly, she had short curly hair, and maybe a hat

The girl discovers a weird flower sort of thing. When she activated the flower, a bizarre set of events unfold on top of the flower. I can't recall the exact sequence of events, but they are something along the following:

  • A little creature awakens at the center of the flower. I think there was a little sprout sticking out of the flower beforehand?

  • At some point, a number of small white orbs around the perimeter of the flower activate. They move around the flower and do some things

  • I think the creature died (or maybe went into hibernation)

  • The flower ends up right where it started as a weird story of life cycle.

After she is done looking at the flower, she leaves the cylinder forest and finds her partner that she was walking with. The cylinders all grow longer, thus closing off the forest from being entered again.

How do you follow up an anime series like Cowboy Bebop, a hard-hitting blend of sci-fi and jazz? If you're Shinichiro Watanabe the answer is with a hip-hop adventure set in alternate Edo-era Japan. Samurai Champloo can regularly be found near the top of best anime roundups, and if you're looking for an excuse to revisit the beloved series, Crunchyroll has one for you: a limited-edition Blu-ray collection with a premium presentation. Samurai Champloo: The Complete Series Limited Edition arrives November 5 exclusively on the Crunchyroll Store. Fans can preorder the soon-to-be released Samurai Champloo box set for $67.49 (was $90).

...

Samurai Champloo's Limited-Edition release comes with a display-worthy slipcase and the six art cards shown above. As for the extras on the disc, you'll find clean credit sequences, concept art, a "bumper" gallery, promo videos, and trailers. All 26 episodes are included on three Blu-ray discs, and thanks to the high production values, this show really shines in high-definition. The soundtrack is also legendary stuff, and combined with the slick action, the series has become a cult-classic over the years.

...

It's worth noting that there's already a standard edition Samurai Champloo release you can buy. Samurai Champloo: The Complete Series on Blu-ray is available for $32.49 (was $50) at Amazon.
